My friend Lost & Found played The Long Way Round in a great set he played on USD.fm a few weeks ago. I’ve always been hugely into JRPGs, SNES, NES, Sega Genesis/MegaDrive, and of course the Game Boy Color, so any chiptune sounds like this always really catch my ear. Chiptune is something that’s very minimalist and a real discipline.
The Long Way Round is about not always getting what you want when you want it, but getting it eventually even if it takes a little while; it’s a track about patience with human beings, something I’ve not always had but recently learned. There’s even a hint of remorse in there, there were sang vocals on this track from both myself and another, but yesterday I stopped speaking to the other vocalist due to our very different outlook on life and some twisted words after a decade of friendship, so this track is still very much a work-in-progress, but nonetheless I hope you get your groove on to it.
